To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call the toll-free number on your insurance card under substance abuse, behavioral health, or mental health issues. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask:
Payment
Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted for payment. Full payment should be provided at the time of service.
Cancellation Policy
If you do not attend your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session, unless you have an emergency.
- $110 per session (50-60 minutes). The first session is $125 which reflects the assessment process and the additional work that is required.

- What are my mental health benefits? It is described in insurance terms as outpatient psychotherapy.
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session? Ask what is the usual and customary reimbursement rate? This rate is often different from what therapists actually charge.
- How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
- How much does my insurance pay for an "out-of-network" provider?
